I’m new to OPENDJ, and trying to do something like locking an account until a particular point in time i.e. 20161231000000 – 31st december, 2016. How should I best approach this? Lockout duration is for passwords – how long an account should be locked after a series of password failures. This is OK but my req. here is a little different from this.
I’d really appreciate any help on this.
It is currently not possible to specify an absolute time for locking an account.
Account lockout after a series of login failure is either for a period of time (5 minutes) or infinite.
If you want to disable temporarily an account, you can “inactivate” it, using the
manage-account command. But to re-activate the account, you will need to run the command again. It should be easy to have a script and cron command to only activate an account at a specific date.
Thanks for replying, Ludo. I appreciate it. To “inactivate”, I assume we can set “ds-pwp-account-disabled” to true, and not until it is set back to false, will the user be able to get through. If you could please validate this, it’d great.
Yes, this is what the
manage-account tool does.
